Skyline

Whoopee, another alien invasion.  Donald Faison (of Scrubs fame) and Eric Balfour run around a condominium in LA with a couple of chicks trying to flee an army of aliens with fancy blue lights that manage to entrance all humans who happen to gaze upon them.

Nothing of importance ever develops between characters, the aliens are interesting enough, and the visual effects are impressive only when considering the low budget of this production.

In the end, it turns out they’ve been running round in circles, the aliens take over the world anyway, and somewhere around the end a glowing red brain appears.

Skyline comes nowhere close to the thrill of Independence Day, has none of the depth and humour of District 9, and won’t be threatening the effects on Avatar anytime soon.  It doesn’t even have chicks that are all that hot.  Dear Brothers Strause, why did you bother?
